We are looking for an R&D Manager to be hired on a permanent contract with one of our clients, an innovative start‑up in the chemical‑engineering sector. Our client specializes in renewable energy and, in particular, in the research, development and prototyping of new green batteries and long‑duration energy storage systems.
Role

Define and execute the R&D roadmap across single cell, stack, pilot, and container scale.
Standardize test protocols: performance mapping, cycling/aging, efficiency breakdown, and safety‑related tests.
Apply Design of Experiments (DoE) to optimize stack/system parameters (flow, pressure, compression, temperature, operating windows).
Lead scaling‑up activities, coordinating build/test iterations and design reviews with engineering teams.
Own data quality, reproducibility, analysis workflows, and reporting cadence.
Define acceptance criteria for prototypes and pilot builds; support FAT/SAT preparation.
Manage lab/test infrastructure needs (instrumentation, test stands, automation requirements) with the controls team.
Mentor team members and enforce safe, structured experimentation.
Draft procedures, reports and technical documentation in general.

Job Requirements

Experience in battery engineering / electrochemical system testing (PhD years can be counted as experience if relevant).
Proven R&D management or technical leadership in experimental teams.
Strong skills in battery testing, scale‑up, DoE, and electrochemistry interpretation.
Experience defining structured test plans and translating results into engineering actions.
