Offer Description
This position is offered as part of the ROSE project. The aim of the project is to develop a proof of concept combining miniaturized odor sensors and neural stimulators, which will be evaluated in patients with smell disorders. The project is coordinated by the CNRS (Lyon Neuroscience Research Center, CRNL) and combines the efforts of six other international partners: Politecnico di Milano (Italy), the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (Switzerland), the University of Thessaloniki (Greece), the University of Dresden (Germany), Aryballe (France, Grenoble), and the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA, France, Grenoble). The post-doc's tasks will be to coordinate the research carried out at the CRNL, from planning/conducting experiments to organizing and processing data and promoting its valorization.

Coordinating the planning of experiments
Conducting experiments in the field of olfaction
Organizing and analyzing data in collaboration with team members and the ROSE consortium
Implementing statistical approaches
Formatting and communicating results (oral presentations to the team, the consortium, and outside the laboratory)
Writing scientific articles

The candidate will work within the Neuropop team at the Lyon Neuroscience Research Center (Vinatier site in Bron, Neurocampus building). This team is made up of seven researchers and around ten doctoral students, and its research topics on human and animal models focus on the plasticity of olfaction. Part of the research is dedicated to smell disorders, in collaboration with the medical community (ENT specialists in particular). Resources provided (equipment, IT, etc.):

Individual computer workstation

Experimental equipment for human olfaction research

The position is part-time: 50%.

Additional Information
Eligibility criteria

PhD in neuroscience or cognition. A solid foundation in data acquisition, organization, programming, and human olfaction is required.
Proven experience in: 1/ data acquisition, organization, and analysis, and use of a programming language (e.g., R, Matlab), 2/ summarizing and writing scientific documents (internal reports, articles, etc.), 3/ presenting data at national and international conferences.
Excellent level of English
Very good writing skills
Statistical data analysis skills
Ability to work in a team
