Description du poste

Organisation/Company CNRS Department Institut de génomique fonctionnelle Research Field Biological sciences Researcher Profile First Stage Researcher (R1) Country France Application Deadline 11 Dec 2025 - 23:59 (UTC) Type of Contract Temporary Job Status Full-time Hours Per Week 35 Offer Starting Date 1 Mar 2026 Is the job funded through the EU Research Framework Programme? Not funded by a EU programme Is the Job related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure? NoOffer DescriptionThe harmful effects of poisonous high-levels of environmental pollutants and intoxication to the central nervous (CNS) and cardiovascular systems are proven. Surprisingly, insufficient information is available concerning the impact of exposure to mixtures of pthalate plasticizers and perfluorinated acids widely used in industrial processes. Public relevance further grows when considering the effects that mixtures of pthalate plasticizers and perfluorinated acids could have during development, in particular to forming brain and cardio-vascular structures. We now seek a post-doctoral researcher to test the hypothesis that exposure to mixtures of pthalate plasticizers and perfluorinated acids during development, in compositions and dosages pertinent to environmental contamination, results in neuro- and cardio-vascular defects. The person recruited will use zebrafish as a model for studying neuro-vascular and cardio-vascular development. In particular the person recruited will developa) a fast and effective in vivo screening of neuro- and cardio-vascular changes induced by mixtures of pthalate plasticizers and perfluorinated acids;b) spatio-temporal 2-Photon reconstructions of the developing neuro- and cardio-vascular structures exploiting ad hoc transgenic zebrafish. She provide support for optical mapping of brain and cardiac structures following exposure to mixtures of pthalate plasticizers and perfluorinated acidsShe identify the genetic signature consequent to the exposure to mixtures of pthalate plasticizers and perfluorinated acids analogues during brain and cardiac development. The Functional Genomics Institute is a joint research unit comprising 330 people and 23 teams working in the fields of neuroscience, physiology, and cancer, and hosting seven technical platforms (genomics, proteomics, pharmacological screening, vectorology, small animal imaging, functional exploration). The successful candidate will work with the Jopling and Marchi laboratories at the IGF in Montpellier. These teams have extensive experience in assessing the effects of environmental pollutants. The IGF is located on the Arnaud de Villeneuve campus, which is part of the Pro-Bike Employer Program. The successful candidate will have experience working with zebrafish and will be familiar with two-photon microscopy and the basics of molecular biology.
